Camper and Intern applications for our spring session are now open!
Our Girls Rock! Camp is a music and mentorship program for girls, and trans and gender-diverse young people aged 10-17. Over the course of camp, participants (campers) will learn an instrument, form a band, write an original song, watch live music performances and take part in a range of creative and capacity building workshops.
When: Monday 30 September – Friday 4 October, 9am-5pm, with a showcase on Saturday 5 October, 1-3pm
Where: Ainslie Arts Centre, 30 Elouera St, Braddon ACT
Cost: $500 for the week – includes instrument use, all workshops materials and daily morning and afternoon tea. Financial aid (including full and partial scholarships) is available on a needs basis.
What to bring: GR!C will provide all musical instruments and workshop materials, as well as daily morning and afternoon tea. Campers will need to bring a packed lunch and water bottle.
NOTE: Camper participation in the Saturday showcase is a mandatory part of attendance. As campers will depend on their bandmates to be there at rehearsals, please make sure the camper will be able to attend the whole week of camp.
If you have participated before in Girls Rock! Canberra as a camper and are between the ages of 16 to 18 years old, consider applying for our Intern program – applications now open!
